Mmm… BLTs
Mrs J strolled around back to the big garden and pulled a few tomatoes – our first of the season from there! Yay! Mrs J was adamant: “We’re having BLTs!” I baked a loaf of white bread for the occasion.
I used the Pillow Soft Rolls recipe. Works great, a really useful recipe for all kinds of basic loaves, rolls, and buns. It’s my go-to recipe.

JW, when it calls for 110 degree water and milk – how do you heat it? I always seem to over heat and I don’t have a thermometer that is that sensitive. Do you use a candy thermometer? I usually wing it, but I’m not always successful and at this altitude it seems more important.
I zap it in the microwave. I have an electronic probe thermometer that works pretty well. Once you get the feel for 110-115, testing with your finger works great. Amazon doesn’t carry that one anymore. This one looks nice.
Thank you. You always make such excellent bread I believe in learning all I can from you.
