A quick shelter visit

On our way home from the shopping expedition we stopped by the shelter for a quick visit.  I had my little pocket camera with me but I’m not as facile with it as I am with my bigger Nikons.  We were just in time for a brand new litter of Maltese puppies. There is no doubt in my mind that these will be adopted quickly.  The momma Maltese was one of those dogs that were surrendered by a backyard breeder who grew too old and infirm to care for her animals any longer. This cute little boy is an Aussie Shepherd mix.  Mrs J isn’t quite sure what the other part is or any of his back story other than he is an “owner surrender”.This little kitty was turned in as a stray.  Shelter staff assure me that the lack of tail is a natural result of the genetic makeup and not due to accident or abuse.  I know that Manx cats are tailless, and also have longer back legs that give them a rabbity posture and gait.  I don’t know if this kitty has that or not, not wanting to bother him further. I have no info on this fellow, other than the obvious terrier look he has about him.  One of the shelter volunteers was carrying him back to his cage after an outing when I snapped their picture.  The volunteer staffer was cute, too!
