A homemade crust that worked very well for this one. It baked on a stone at 450 for 10 minutes or so. [crust recipe below] It wasn’t a very big one, about a 10 incher I’d guess. A smear of awesome sauce, sausage, onion, and mushrooms, with mozzarella. A sprinkle of red pepper flakes, a grind of good salt, and a bit of fresh black pepper and Hooo Boy!
The crust was 3 cups of bread flour, 1 packet of yeast, a teaspoon kosher salt, a tablespoon of sugar, a tablespoon of olive oil, and about one cup of warm water. Whisk the yeast and sugar into the water and give it a minute, then pour that into the flour and salt in a mixing bowl and combine, adding the oil as you stir it together. I do it in a stand mixer and let the hook work the dough for 10 minutes or so. Let it rise for an hour then divide into two pieces. Each half will make one 10 inch pizza or bigger, depending on how thin you roll the dough.
Look at all those bubbles in the crust… amazing, this must have been delicious!
