Creme Fraiche

DSC_8252 (1600x1060)We were watching an Alton Brown show while eating lunch the other day and he mentioned an easy way to make this stuff (pronounced krem fresh) at home so we gave it a whirl.  Success!  Just add two tablespoons of buttermilk to a cup of heavy cream and let it stand, covered with plastic wrap, overnight.  Yogurt works in lieu of buttermilk.  I used some of each in this batch.  Above is a photo of Mrs J’s snack tonight – strawberries with the creme and a drizzle of honey.  I had a bowl of canned peaches on shortcake with it poured generously on top.  Awesome!  Thanks, anonymous Frenchman.
