A Day at the Pond

Anthony hefts a nice bluegill he took off the hook for his son, who was leery of handling the slimy, finny, flopping creature…20160520_143908(1600x1200)…and shows them just how it’s done.  He mentioned that the bluegill’s teeth helped by providing a good gripping surface but I’m afraid that set back his effort.  One measure of relative size when discussing panfish is “handsized”.  I asked the young man to put his hand next to the fish so I could better document his catch.20160520_144336(1600x1200)His dad quickly explained my intent and demonstrated the proper method. I love this photo.20160520_144535(1600x1200)Success!  You will note, though, that he is avoiding the teeth.
