Anthony hefts a nice bluegill he took off the hook for his son, who was leery of handling the slimy, finny, flopping creature……and shows them just how it’s done. He mentioned that the bluegill’s teeth helped by providing a good gripping surface but I’m afraid that set back his effort. One measure of relative size when discussing panfish is “handsized”. I asked the young man to put his hand next to the fish so I could better document his catch.
His dad quickly explained my intent and demonstrated the proper method. I love this photo.
