Mulligan Stew

Leftover pork, sprouts, pinto beans (from refried), fresh celery, cauliflower, and carrots, leftover beef stew with green beans, potatoes, corn, and plenty of onions.  Mulligan stew is a classic dish, my family used to go to a feed put on by one of the veteran’s organizations every year that featured mulligan stew.  Until one year when there were reported cases of food poisoning from the stew.  I never got the full story, not sure if the meal was assembled with community contributions of ingredients or no.  Whatever the source of the contamination it was enough to shut the event down.  Pity, that.
