I think this is the first time we’ve seen a whitetail covered with those sticky beggar lice. I guess I figured they were somehow immune to them.

Around here they are known as beggar’s lice.

They are seeds of a plant that seem to be covered with velcro, they will stick to nearly anything. I’ve scraped a ton of them from my pant legs with a knife.

I was going to say those are some big bugs!! I was watching a show just recently and it was about a sloth and it was completely covered in ticks. It was really gross! I guess that is nature though

Well this post led to Google to figure out what this was. Curiosity was peaked the first time the photo was posted, “Wonder what that is that is covering the deer?” Glad to know it is not lice, ticks or some disease. Thanks for sharing.
