Bonus – behind the scenes, the making of noodle pr0n:
Our local Kroger store, like many others, deals with approaching expiry dates on fresh chickens by cooking them in their deli section. They go 2 for $10 as either an 8 piece fried chicken tray or as a whole roasted chicken. Mrs J brought back one of each the other day. We froze the fried pieces and I boned the whole chicken, roasted the bones with some aromatics, and have that simmering in water that has been fortified with a bit of chicken concentrate. Those green bits are some rosemary that is not yet dead and a few remaining scraggly sprigs of tarragon whose removal I imagine assures its demise.
