UPDATED with PHOTOS Roasted Turkey with Bourbon and Maple Syrup

Updated: This was the most amazing turkey I’ve ever prepared, even the leftovers were moist and tender. The skin was crisp and golden.

It was simple enough and worked perfectly on the first try on Thanksgiving Day.  It was a good risk and I’m glad I took the plunge. I love Michael Symon’s recipes. His Rib Roast is my go-to every Christmas.

From the original post:

This looks simple enough that I’m not worried about trying it for the first time on Thanksgiving Day.

This Thanksgiving Michael Symon has been posting recipes and videos for a complete dinner. Link here (you don’t need a FB account to read or watch). I’m fascinated with covering the turkey with cheesecloth.  I’ll roast it in the oven, instead of on the wood pellet grill, so I can keep a good eye on it.

I’ll add photos once I’ve actually prepared the recipe.   Updated with photos.
