Drat. Posted before I finished. No broad white patches on the wings like red-headed; red cap outlined with black, then white, thin black line from red on head to back suggest Pileated to me. Crest invisible from this angle.

Sure enough! I told Mrs J just now that it was a Pileated and she said yes, I knew that, I told you so when we first saw the photo. I plead dumbass!
